Awards Time. No, Seriously

I rarely toot my own horn. This could be somewhat related to the fact that 1. The word toot makes me nervous and 2. I don’t own a horn. Actually, that word makes me nervous too. However, I’ve had two wonderful surprises sent my way in the last week in the form of blogging awards. As everyone knows, that’s why I’m blogging…to get blogging awards. Well, actually, I’m blogging to make money and get a book deal, but that’s not working out too well…at all. I have however made friends, which is more important than awards and money. Well, it depends on what denomination of money. No it doesn’t. OK, yes it does. Sorry.

So any way, on to the awards. Seriously, I can’t tell you how cool it is to be nominated for anything by my blog friends. Even village idiot. I would gladly accept the village idiot award if it came from a blog friend. If it came from an outside of the internet friend however, there would be repercussions. Serious repercussions.

The first award was the Rising Blogger of the Day Award for my ‘Things I Learned This Week’ post. The review of the post is really, really cool and I am beyond giddy about getting it and am eternally indebted to the person that nominated me. I’ve read it 23 times already today. I am so happy in fact that I am thinking of asking someone to get me some shrubbery. I want the second piece of shrubbery to be taller than the first, with a little path running down between them. Although all of the lessons have been hard to learn, I’m glad that people enjoy ‘Things I Learned This Week.’ But then again, people like watching other people get hurt. I laugh so hard during America’s Funniest Home Videos that I have to wear adult diapers. Hmmmm, perhaps I should not have shared that…

The second award I was lucky enough to get is The Power of Schmooze Award from both Patti and Frigga. Unfortunately, the arm in the photo is not mine. Not sure why I feel compelled to say that, but I wanted to clear up any misconceptions. It is also very cool to get this award. At least there is some payoff for the complete blogging addiction I am now suffering from. Now I have justification for blogging all the time: it gets me awards. In real life, I don’t like schmoozing or schmoozers. In fact, I sit in the corner at parties and work functions and make fun of them. But blog schmoozing, or blmooozing, is different. It’s a way to exchange ideas, learn about other people and their lives and leave random semi-amusing comments that leave people wondering how long I have been searching for my sanity. Truth be told though, I would much rather be schmoozing than oozing. Oozing is bad, it’s messy and it’s usually associated with an open sore or infection. See, I told you schmoozing was better. Certainly a lot better than glad handling or pan handling.

OK, now I am just rambling, which is sure to make people want to take away my awards. So, I will humbly stop here before that happens. But first, I wanted to take this time to make you aware of the plight of the lesser pelican and about some new phenomenon called globe warmth or warmal globing or something like that. I can’t remember. I wasn’t really paying attention. I just thought I should use this platform to raise awareness. Also, I wanted to raise awareness about the need for more work holidays. Perhaps I’ve mentioned that one before?

What's glad handling? Or do I not really want to know?

We found a box of Depends in the basement of the house when we moved in. Should we save them if you ever come visit? lol.

Congrats on your awards!!! One day, I will be nominated and get my own. Or I'll kick you in the babymaker and steal yours.

You definitely deserve blogging awards. I didn't know such things were even possible! Too bad you don't vlog. Then you could give a recorded thank you speech to all us little people who devotedly read your blog and helped get you where you are today.

And you'd have to thank God of course. And your manager.

You are definitely on your way to fame and fortune, Michael.

Don't forget to proudly display these two awards over there ------>

Congrats! You deserve the awards and the recognition. Your blog is a reliable shelter in the blogosphere, where every visitor is assured a hospitable reception and knows he/she will leave chuckling at life's funny ways.

Now that U R famous, do not forget us lesser bloggers. :)

I literally had to say "blmooozing" in my head 5 times and then I had to say it out loud just to make sure that it wasn't hard to say just in my head... Congrats too!! Someday you will be world famous!!

Heart: Are you sticking your tongue out at me.

Crash: Thanks!

There's much to comment on in there, however I feel I now know you a little too well (the diapers did you in) and I will have to just walk away....

Don't worry, I'll come back to finish getting caught up :P
