Questions and Answers - Thanks Odat!!

I’ve been reading a lot of blogs lately where people are answering questions asked of them by fellow bloggers. Like always, I’m catching on well after everyone else has, but I wanted to play along. Odat, one of my favorite bloggers and one of the very first to start visiting my blog on a regular basis, submitted the following questions for me to answer. She promised to be gentle and she was. Aww shucks, thanks Odat!! Well, here goes…

1. If you could hold a conversation with someone from the past, who would it be and what would you say?

Wow, Odat, way to lob an easy pitch right out there on the first shot ;-)
OK, that’s a hard one. I am tempted to say either Ben Franklin or Harry Truman. Franklin did so many things between inventions and the founding of this country (plus he was a hit with the ladies well into old age and that can never be overlooked) and Truman helped end WWII and had to make the choice to use the bomb.

Oh heck, who am I kidding? It would be Sinatra all the way. I would ask him how one should correctly use words like ‘Ring-a-ding-ding,’ ‘Coo-Coo’ and ‘Square.’ I tried putting them all in a report for work the other day and let’s just say I had to redo it and leave it at that.

2. Complete this sentence: One thing I missed in my childhood was..........

Ummmm, playing little league. It sounds stupid, but because of my health, I couldn’t play little league baseball (or take P.E. classes) even though I loved the game. I was cleared to be the batboy on my brother’s team, which was hard because he didn’t want to play but got to. It was also hard because I was as good an athlete as anyone else on the team. I also think I may have been spit on a few times. I guess I can say that I didn’t miss not having to take gym classes though.

3. If you could receive one gift, what would it be?

Well, do I choose what the scarecrow or the tin man chose? I could choose peace on earth, but I don’t want to be Miss America. Can it be a gift card redeemable for cash?

Above all, I think I’d like the gift of a happy life with lots of good friends and family to spend my days with. Can you throw in a nice watch with it though?

4. If you could chose to be any animal, what creature would you chose?

I’d choose Eric Burden. He was the lead singer of the Animals. Is that what you meant? I have always been fascinated with Killer Whales though, but I’m not sure how I’d handle the tremendous weight gain necessary to become one. I’m also not sure how I’d feel about having blubber. I’m pretty sure there’s a stigma attached to having blubber.

5. If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?

1. A small Caribbean island to make my own personal playground.
2. Ownership in a NASCAR race team
3. Three more wishes because I can’t believe what I wasted the first two on. And a 3 pound lobster. Shoot, did that count as my third? I hope not!

Thanks Odat for letting me participate. If you would like me to ask you a set of 5 questions (and I’m sure you don’t), just email me or let me know in my comments section. I’ll try not to make them too hard. Although, be prepared to know who pitched the final game of the 1955 World Series. Wait, I’m not sure I know the answer either…

I'm ready for an island getaway myself. Life can get to a person.
Blogging has become one of my few escapes. ;-)
BTW, it's clear from reading your blog that you already have the things that the scarecrow, the tin man and the cowardly lion were seeking.

A small Caribbean island would be great, but it must have cable television in order for me to visit you. Good answers Michael.

Odat: Thank you my favorite blog buddy. Whoever comments is more than welcome on my little island.

Patti: Thanks, but I'm afraid I'm still lacking courage ;-)

Captain: How does DirecTV and TiVo sound? Come on by!

There is a stigma attached to having blubber, but always remember that fat is not a feeling.

Mist: Very good point. There is also a stigma to being called a dolt. Unfortunately, that's a stigma I can't shake ;-)

Good answers, Michael. You can interview me if you want, although I've already got two on deck for future blog posts (I'm saving them up for slow times).

I found your blog via some funny as hell comments you left on someone elses.

Your writing is fantastic in two sentences but in whole paragraph entry form it fucking ROCKS!

Consider yourself 'favorited'. I'll be back.

Ian: Stockingpiling? I'd be glad to help!

Kat: Gee, thanks! I'm heading to your blog now. Of course you'll return tomorrow and it'll be my worst post ever. ;-)

michael,
Killer whale? Because you want to intimidate and get back at bullies or because you like really fresh sushi?
Blue Eyes? Because although he didn't invent a bunch of stuff or brought WWII to an end, he still got all the pretty ladies?

Thanks. Getting to know you better. LoL

Lone Grey: Trust me, there's not much more to me than this...

Reflecting Pool: You're quite welcome!

If you were to become a whale, you wouldn't be blubberier than any of the other whales, so if I were you I wouldn't let that stand in the way. Though, if I was you then my daughter would get a very nasty surprise when she wakes up from her nap...

Sinatra? Not Elvis? Or do you know where he's been hiding out since his 'death' and you've been in contact with him all along?
