The freeway system turns 50 today!!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to...oh never mind!
Our freeways turn 50 today. I suppose back in the day the birth of the national highway system completely revolutionized life. Today it's a means to get to work, which is 25 minutes away as the crow flies, in no less than 2 hours.
As someone whose job deals with freeways and freeway congestion, I'm not giving a gift and didn't send a card...but then again, it did make "CHIPS" possible.
